- Thomas L. Horn, Ph.D., Research Toxicologist in the Toxicology and
Carcinogenesis Divison, won for outstanding technical performance. His attention to detail and close
personal involvement in all studies for which he is responsible have resulted in a continually
increasing number of technical successes. His performance has uniformly been rated as
"Outstanding" by IITRI's Sponsors.
- Nei-Long Lyang, M.S., C.B.S., Research Biologist in the Microbiology and
Molecular Biology Division, won for outstanding technical performance. He has greatly
streamlined the technical processes and report writing associated with the conduct of the Ames
test, and consistently adheres to IITRI's Quality Assurance standards. These factors have
resulted in greatly increased throughput in the Ames laboratory at the same time that very high
quality has been maintained.
- Mary Kwiatkowski, Senior Accounting Specialist in the Financial Operations
Division, won for outstanding administrative support. She performs numerous duties in her division
and has done a consistently outstanding job. She is always willing to assume new responsibilities
and has over-achieved in every task to which she has been assigned.
"The Director's Awards were conceived to recognize those individuals whose consistently
outstanding performance allows us to differentiate ourselves as an organization, and as such,
supports our overall success," Dr. McCormick said. "These three recipients clearly have done so."
