Experimental and Investigative Toxicology

In addition to expertise in traditional toxicology testing, members of our staff maintain active research programs in experimental toxicology and carcinogenesis, biochemistry, immunotoxicology, and cell and molecular biology. These capabilities are often interfaced with regulatory toxicology programs to answer mechanistic questions that cannot be addressed using conventional approaches to testing.

Experimental toxicology programs have involved studies of mechanisms of organ-specific toxicity in several target tissues, respiratory sensitization, multi-stage carcinogenesis in the skin and liver, modulation of carcinogenesis, and xenobiotic effects on oncogene expression.
