Toxicology

The Life Sciences Group at IITRI has over 40 years of experience in applied and mechanistic toxicology. We have designed and conducted a broad range of safety programs, from acute through chronic, and carcinogenicity studies.

Supplementing our experience in regulatory toxicology is the team's experience in the conduct of specialized studies, performed under Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) conditions. These research programs have included such non-traditional and evolving areas of investigation as immunotoxicity, target organ toxicity, tumor promotion and pharmaco- and toxico-genomics.

Areas of Expertise Include:

  • Acute Toxicology (Limit Tests, LD50s, LC50s, RD50s, MTD, Irritation)
  • Subchronic Toxicology
  • Chronic Toxicology
  • Carcinogenicity Bioassays
  • Developmental and Reproductive Toxicology
  • Neurotoxicology
  • Immunotoxicology
  • Genetic Toxicology
  • Inhalation Toxicology
  • Toxicokinetics and Pharmacokinetics

Routes of Exposure:

  • Oral (gavage, feed, water)
  • Ocular
  • Dermal
  • Intraperitoneal
  • Inhalation
  • Intravenous
  • Intratracheal
  • Intramuscular
